We Make Custom Orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis

Walker Street Sports Podiatry

Relieve chronic pain and prevent injuries with custom Plantar Fasciitis Orthotics from Sydney's foot orthotic experts. Run, Jump, Kick and Throw pain-free with Custom Orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis.

At Walker Street Sports Podiatry, one of the most common reasons that people seek custom orthotics is for the relief and treatment of plantar fasciitis. The condition is caused by stress, insufficient support, and damage to the plantar fascia (under the arch of your foot). Plantar Fasciitis can make regular walking, running and general movement extremely uncomfortable.

Orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis can be an important element in providing relief and a lasting solution to the sufferer. Plantar Fasciitis Orthotics are designed to provide additional support by stabilising the feel, reducing the stress on the arch of your foot, absorbing shock, reducing pressure on the heel, and providing cushioning for inflamed and stressed ligaments on the arch of your foot.

Custom Plantar Fasciitis orthotics are designed to provide immediate relief and provide enough support to allow your plantar to heal. Furthermore, Orthotics for Plantar Fasciitis are designed to prevent further damage to the area and reduce the risk of flare-ups in the future.

Not every Plantar Fasciitis injury will require orthotics - many feet injuries irritated by Plantar Fasciitis can be treated very successfully without the use of orthotics. Before advising Plantar Fasciitis orthotics, we will provide a full assessment, delve into your prior injuries and find out how you got to where you are now. Our goal is to establish a manageable, lasting solution for any issues that arise from physical activity.

AT Walker Street Sports Podiatry, we always have our finger on the pulse. We don't simply buy into gimmicks but adopt new technology when there will be a real benefit to the patient. We keep up to date with the latest industry standards for producing the best custom Plantar Fasciitis orthotics. We've just started producing 3D printed foot Orthotics in Sydney which provides some unique benefits compared to traditional methods.

To make our custom Plantar Fasciitis orthotics, with specialised light-emitting cameras - digital scanning has now surpassed the traditional methods we once used, such as plaster casting. Once the scans have been taken, your podiatrist writes an orthotic prescription based on your biomechanical assessment, footwear/activity requirements and injury history. The outcome is a highly individualised activity & injury specific Plantar Fasciitis foot orthotics, designed to alter the stresses traveling through the foot & lower extremity during physical activity.

1. Initial Assessment

Before we recommend flat foot orthotics, we start with a biomechanical assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to determine if you are a suitable candidate for orthotics.

Your podiatrist at Walker Street Sports Podiatry will conduct a gait assessment to determine the movement of your feet during the gait cycle. We use the latest technology to ensure a comprehensive and accurate review.

2. Recommendation

If the initial assessment indicates that you would benefit from custom flat foot orthotics, then we will recommend the best orthotics for your foot type and intended purpose. Recommendations are based on intended use

We will only recommend flat foot orthotics if we believe that they can reduce pain or mitigate future injuries stemming from foot or lower leg issues.

3. Orthotic Fitting

Once we have created custom flat foot orthotics based on an initial consultation and recommendation, we then fit your custom orthotics.

We use this step to ensure that your custom foot orthotics fit with your shoes and will make any necessary adjustments. We will also provide you with instructions on how to use your orthotics and provide you with recommendations on the best way to get used to your custom orthotics.

4. Review

The final step in fitting your custom flat foot orthotics is the review. In this step, we will follow up with you within a couple of weeks of your fitting to track your progress.

This is a chance for us to see how your foot and lower leg is adapting to the extra correction of your custom orthotics. The review also gives us an opportunity to make any necessary adjustments.
